The more academic side of what I do is focused around my background in psychology; I use my expertise to advise in the fields of relationships, sexuality, and medico-sexuality.

I write papers for a range of academic journals; in particular, I am Consumer Correspondent for the Journal of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care.

I regularly present to conferences around the world. My most recent guest appearances include: speaking on the psychological implications of cervical cancer at the Royal Society of Medicine, and arguing the effectiveness of sex education at a debate held by the British Association of Sexual and Relationship Therapy.

I also sit on the following advisory boards: Editorial Committee Journal of Family Planning; Primary Care Erectile Dysfunction Society; National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome; Jo's Trust; the Levitra Global Advisory Board on Erectile Dysfunction.

I am an associate member of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the British Association of Sexual and Marital Therapists and the Association of Family Therapists.
