The more academic side of what I do is focused around my background in psychology; I use my expertise to advise in the fields of relationships, sexuality, and medico-sexuality.

I write papers for a range of academic journals; in particular, I am Consumer Correspondent for the Journal of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care. I have also recently written articles for The British Journal of Sexual Medicine, Menopause Matters and The Sex Education Journal.

My 2009 guest appearances have included speaking at the Royal Society of Medicine's Sexual Pleasures meeting, running several interactive workshops for cervical cancer charity Jo's Trust and being invited to address 100 international opinion formers at the annual conference of the European Society of Sexual Medicine.

I also sit on the following advisory boards: Editorial Committee Journal of Family Planning; National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome; Jo's Trust; British Association of Sex Educators (BASE).

I am an associate member of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the British Association of Sexual and Relationship Therapists.
